The Spitfire: Roost Nero Ti Hardtail in Ohlins

Spitfire Nero Ti Hardtail Yellow Ohlins

The Spitfire: Roost Nero Ti Aggressive Hardtail Wrapped in Ohlins Yellow

This is a super sexy build we did to pair raw Ti with a classic Ohlins fork colourway: Silver Titanium with Yellow and Black. We think she turned out incredibly!

Yellow is not the most popular colour on bikes. Pairing silver and yellow makes us think of the legendary Spitfire planes of WW2 (although they were mostly grey and green). We stayed true to the yellow accents as much as possible and it was just enough to make it pop. The slack angles of this frame make it look like a Spitfire about to take off.

Frame

Roost Nero Ti Aggressive Hardtail 2022 model in medium.

Wheels

Roost Nero Enduro Carbon rims in 29″ with 31mm ID. Specialized Butcher 2.6″ on the front with T9 compound and an Eliminator 2.6″ T7/T9 on the rear. The rear is also sporting a Tannus Armour tyre insert. Both wheels are rolling on Roost Boost Hubs with 114 teeth, 6 Pawls and 5.2 degree engagement.

Pedals, Dropper, Saddle

Fox Transfer 175mm dropper with remote and a Nukeproof Vector AM comp saddle in yellow. Black Roost Nero flat pedals keeping the riders feet where they need to be.

Other Bits

Cane Creek headset and VHS slapper tape to protect the frame. We also used spiral cable wrap to keep the front end tidy and foam cable tubing to stop the dropper and brake cables rattling around inside the Ti tubes. The result is a super quiet bike apart from the buzzing hornet rear hub and the brraaap of the tyres on dirt!

Comments from the Owner

We think it’s sick! But we’re biased – we built this up as a demo and an excuse to use some incredible components from our friends at 5Dev, Ohlins and Magura. It rails corners like a beast and the Ohlins fork is super planted.
